Elanga filmed arriving in Newcastle – New footage of £52m Nottingham Forest star

A transfer breakthrough finally arrived at 9pm last night, as a full agreement over Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga was confirmed.

Less than 24 hours later, the 23-year-old winger has left a training camp in Portugal, jumped on a private jet and made his way to Newcastle to complete his medical.

Footage has emerged of the Swedish international touching down at Newcastle airport just before 6pm, as you can see below via Sky Sports’ Keith Downie:

As Downie reports, the player will now begin the first part of his medical on Tuesday night, with his official move likely to be announced at some stage tomorrow once all of the formalities are completed.

The deal is believed to be an initial £52m that could include £3m in add-ons – although these are thought to be difficult to reach – and the winger is set to sign a five-year deal.

The Swede will become the third most expensive player in the club’s history after Alexander Isak (£63m) and Sandro Tonali (£55m).

He scored six goals and delivered 12 assists last season and will bring so much of what Eddie Howe craves in a winger; pace, pressing, ability with both feet and big potential to improve.

Welcome to the Toon, Anthony!
