**Anthony Elanga has cut short his break in Portugal to fly in to undergo a medical ahead of finalising his move to Newcastle United.**

Last night, it was reported that Newcastle United's £55 million bid for Anthony Elanga had been accepted by Nottingham Forest and, after a brief hold-up, the deal was due to go ahead.

Fans initially thought Elanga's representatives were holding up the deal by asking for more money, however, the reality turned out to be that the [Sweden star was in the middle of switching representatives](https://nufcfeed.com/the-issue-was-journalist-offers-explanation-as-to-what-held-up-newcastle-uniteds-anthony-elanga-bid-1427546) which held up the deal.

Now that everything has been sorted, things are finally moving forward with Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie sharing a video on social media showing Elanga disembarking a private plane at Newcastle Airport.

Anthony Elanga touched down in Newcastle at around 5:30 pm

Like Newcastle, Nottingham Forest's squad returned to training on Monday, however, because Elanga was involved in internationals with Sweden last month he was granted extra time off.

The 23-year-old was on a break in Portugal when everything was finalised and cut short his summer break to come to Newcastle to complete the deal.

It's no wonder Will Osula returned to training early, he wanted to see the fruits of his labour after hanging out with Elanga over the summer. Good work, Agent Will.

Anthony Elanga is due to sign a five-year contract at Newcastle

Upon completion of his medical, Elanga is expected to sign a five-year contract at Newcastle.

There still seems to be some debate over the fee with Keith Downie claiming it's £53 million + £2 million in add-ons, while Graeme Bailey has reported the fee is £55 million with an extra £5 million in bonuses.

Whatever the fee, Elanga will arrive with a lot of pressure on his shoulders as he is essentially expected to be the final piece of Newcastle's attacking jigsaw.

We've no doubt that he'll turn out to be a fantastic signing, and once he gets up to speed with Eddie Howe's methods, we will have one of the fiercest and fastest attacks in the Premier League.
