Terry Bradshaw Takes Shot at Tom Brady’s $375 Million Contract With Fox

Terry Bradshaw has been an NFL television studio analyst dating back to 1990, where he began with CBS and shortly thereafter moved to Fox when the network famously swooped in to purchase NFL TV rights in 1994.

Over the course of the last three-plus decades of the Pittsburgh Steelers legend talking NFL, it's probably safe to say that nearly anyone who has watched Bradshaw's style of analysis has quickly learned he rarely shies away from doling out an honest opinion.

A great example of the four-time Super Bowl champion doing exactly that came as recently as May, when Bradshaw made his feelings about the Steelers likely bringing in Aaron Rodgers abundantly clear, saying, "That's a joke. That to me is just a joke ... That guy needs to stay in California."

Now, the latest to take a not-so-subtle verbal dart from Bradshaw?

Yet another legendary NFL quarterback and fellow Fox Sports "teammate," Tom Brady.

In the latest episode in what feels like a very random appearance on the To The Point Home Services Podcast-a show described as a podcast focusing on helping home service companies like plumbing and roofing-Bradshaw got into discussing the record-setting viewership numbers that Fox saw for the Super Bowl this past February.

"The largest Super Bowl in history. 126 million people," said Bradshaw. "There's 330 million people in America. That is a ton. The Fox pregame show averaged 28 million for five hours. Who in the world is gonna sit around and watch that mess for five hours? 28 million."

Right here is where Bradshaw dialed things up a notch or three.

"You know how much money they made? God. More money than plumbers, I can assure you that," the 76-year-old Bradshaw stated. "And I guarantee you, if I go in there [to Fox] and ask for a raise, 'Well, we don't have any [money]…we're running a little tight.' Well, you just paid Tom Brady $37 million a year. I'll take it. I did some bad deals, that's what it was."

Brady has seen his fair share of criticism, both for the $375 million contract along with his broadcasting work for Fox thus far, which is hardly surprising.

But more to the point, it's not entirely clear if Bradshaw has even asked for a raise in pay from Fox.

Although based on what he said and how he said it, it sounded like Bradshaw was offering a hypothetical about a conversation that hasn't yet happened, and essentially just used the opportunity to sound the horn and take a shot at Brady's enormous 10-year contract.

However, regardless of whether or not Bradshaw has been in actual talks with Fox about a contract raise during the offseason, he may have very well earned one.

Because a five-hour Super Bowl pregame show averaging 28 million viewers is such a preposterously high number that Bradshaw-and the rest of Fox's NFL studio panel-have a pretty legitimate reason to be inquiring about a lift in pay.
