Bayern Munich were keen to sign one Chelsea attacker earlier. But, they failed to land hum. The Bundesliga giants have now re-entered the race to sign him with Blues making him available on discount.
The star in question here is Christopher Nkunku. Chelsea signed him as a talented forward from Leipzig in summer 2023. They splashed £52 million for him due to his top form for German giants. But, the deal has ended in failure for both the player and the club.
Nkunku was injured for most of his first season. Later, he returned to full fitness but was unable to get into starting lineup over other stars. As a result, he wanted to leave in January. Bayern Munich were open to sign him and the player was ready too.
But, a deal was unable to get completed due to Chelsea’s demands. The Blues have now agreed to let Nkunku leave. They have also lowered their valuation with making the 27 year old available for £35 million. The German champions are now once again back in the race.
Bayern Munich again keen to sign Nkunku
According to The Athletic, Bayern have once again made Nkunku their transfer target. They have failed to land Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams this summer. Hence, they have re-entered the race for Nkunku. Bayern are keen to bring him back to Germany where he was so successful for RB Leipzig.
Chelsea will surely want a permanent deal. Bayern can easily afford to sign Nkunku for £35 million. But, they will face competition from plenty other clubs. As of now, he is also a top target for Man United. The Red Devils view Nkunku’s versatality as key asset to improve thier attack.
As of now, Bayern have lead over United in Nkunku’s pursuit. The player is ready to return back to Germany to get his career back on track. In Addition, the Red Devils will not play European football next season. In contrast, Bayern will play in Champions League.
