Manchester United’s 2025/26 season preparations are now in full swing as pre-season officially begins at Carrington.

The Red Devils are looking to move on after the fans witnessed a torrid 2024/25 season, losing the Europa League final to Spurs.

With the UK gripped by a summer heatwave, most of the squad reported back on Monday to begin strength and conditioning work ahead of August’s Premier League opener against Arsenal.

However, five notable players – Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Tyrell Malacia – have been told to find new clubs.

Therefore, meaning they are absent from pre-season activities.

Whether all five go on to be sold before the league season begins, remains rather unlikely.

However, the club remain intent on building team cohesion with new arrivals, despite off-pitch frustrations in Bryan Mbeumo’s deal slowing down.

Tuesday’s session was more eventful however, offering supporters a first glimpse of the fresh faces hoping to play a major part under Ruben Amorim this season.

New signings Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon were both spotted in full first-team training, marking their first on-field sessions since arriving at the club.

As Amorim and his staff continue shaping their squad, attention also turned to the youngsters involved in training.

Academy stars Shea Lacey, Bendito Mantato, and Reece Munro were all spotted with the senior side on Tuesday.

Suggesting the trio have been given a big opportunity to stake their claim during pre-season.

Lacey’s presence in particular could point toward a breakout campaign.

The 18-year-old is naturally an attacking midfielder, with his pace and agility key qualities of the Englishman.

While the involvement of Munro and Mantato signals Amorim’s intent to integrate youth into his evolving system.

Their inclusion is a major show of faith.

Especially as INEOS aim to continue United’s tradition of embedding young talents into the first-team, to become mainstays.
