Leeds United may need to be wary of the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) as uncertainty surrounds Jack Harrison this transfer window.
The Englishman returned to the Whites after spending two seasons on loan at Goodison Park, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for him in LS11.
Everton want Harrison back in Merseyside after playing a key role under David Moyes, as the Toffees finished 13th in the Premier League in the previous campaign.
The ex-Manchester City forward’s future at Elland Road is uncertain, although the Blues’ payment terms could potentially be unfavourable for the West Yorkshire outfit.

Everton want Harrison on free transfer, Leeds United PSR implication shared
Everton would be interested in signing Harrison from Leeds if he’s available on a free transfer, according to Adam Pope.

The BBC Sport journalist revealed that the 28-year-old, who has three years left on his contract, could join the Toffees for free.
Pope shared concerns of possible PSR issues at Elland Road if the Whites cut a deal or pay out the English forward’s deal.

The journalist wrote in BBC Sport (8 July): “Harrison’s future remains unclear. Back at pre-season training with Leeds United from another loan at Everton, he has three years left on his contract at Elland Road.
“My understanding is that Everton would be interested in taking him on a free transfer, but the implications of cutting a deal or paying up Harrison’s contract would have PSR implications for Leeds, who are carefully navigating through the financial parameters while bolstering their squad for the new season.”

Leeds can’t sanction free Harrison transfer to Everton
Leeds should give Harrison a second chance next season instead of opting to sell him for free to Everton.
It would make no sense for the Whites to let the Englishman leave and hinder their transfer strategy due to PSR concerns.
If the 28-year-old does want to leave Elland Road, he should make concessions on his own end to join the Merseyside outfit.
Leeds have announced Gabriel Gudmundsson as their fourth signing of the summer, but there’s still a lot of work that arguably needs to be done.
The Whites must still bolster their goalkeeping department, midfield and attack now that they’ve reinforced their defence ahead of next season.
Sean Longstaff may be the next arrival at Elland Road in the coming days, with Callum Wilson also on the West Yorkshire outfit’s radar.
Harrison’s future will be one to keep an eye on, but Daniel Farke should include the forward in his plans if Everton have no intention of paying a fee.
