Mike Elko is getting a gift in his second year as the head coach of Texas A&M football. Elko will have more eyes on defense while also getting more involved on Colin Klein's offense. He's also getting two of the best offensive linemen in the SEC, both of whom will be captains for the 2025 season.
Ar'maj Reed-Adams and Trey Zuhn are the [captains](https://www.statesman.com/story/sports/college/aggies/2025/04/16/armaj-reed-adams-texas-am-football-captain-spring-ball/83123770007/) on offense with Taurean York being the captain on defense. Reed-Adams came to A&M from Kansas, where he got the privilege to block for Jalon Daniels for some of Kansas' best football days in over a decade. Now, [Pro Football Focus has Reed-Adams](https://www.pff.com/news/college-football-pff50-ranking-50-best-players-2025) slowly on the rise as a serious contender for a top 10 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
PFF's ranking doesn't specifically have Reed-Adams in the top 10 of their best 50 players in the country, but when we narrow down the positions separately, along with the ceiling for Reed-Adams this season, it's not too radical to say that Reed-Adams can go high in the draft.
Reed-Adams has full potential to be top 10 pick in NFL Draft
------------------------------------------------------------
PFF has Reed-Adams at No. 16 on the list of the best 50 players in the country. As Dalton Wasserman and Max Chadwick write, his run blocking is what's so dominant in his 6-foot-5, 330 pound stature.
> "Reed-Adams led all Power Four guards in gap PFF run-blocking grade and ranked fourth in zone PFF run-blocking grade this past season."
>
> Dalton Wasserman and Max Chadwick
There are two offensive linemen ahead of Reed-Adams. One plays offensive tackle, and the other plays center. This means that PFF is expecting Reed-Adams to be one of, if not the best guard in college football next year. Also, three of the names ahead of Reed-Adams on the top 50 list were true freshman last season, meaning Reed-Adams has a true shot to be a high pick in next year's draft.
Reed-Adams becoming one of the best OL's in college football is no surprise to Aggie fans, but his stock is slowly on the rise, and good for PFF for recognizing that.
