There were rumors of the New Orleans Saints [potentially unveiling a new helmet and jersey](https://news.sportslogos.net/2025/07/02/sources-reveal-dates-for-nfl-alternate-throwback-helmet-and-uniform-unveilings/football/) as they step into the Kellen Moore era. There seems to be at least some validity to the whispers.
The team posted a picture of [a silhouette of a helmet](https://x.com/saints/status/1942599557650505757?s=46&t=_U0UBmCWxF2s5xLnGQ2rFQ) to their official social media pages. There caption had no words, just an eye emoji and another emoji that said soon. No more rumors. This is a flat out tease with a release date. The picture said July 9, 2025 on the bottom.
The original rumor projected the reveal would happen on July 22. The Saints are giving us the helmet even earlier.
The Saints can’t make the same mistake as last time

The Saints unveiled black helmets in 2022. Despite wearing black jerseys at home, the team didn’t pair their new helmets with their black home jerseys. Instead, the Saints opted to make the black helmets a part of their Color Rush uniform.
The pairing was obvious, and they went in the opposite direction. The Color Rush uniform is white jerseys and white pants. No part of that says black helmets. It’s no wonder the Saints have yet to win a game in those helmets.
A white helmet would make a lot of sense for the Saints. They could wear it as a natural complement to their Color Rush uniform or wear it with white jerseys.
If they really wanted the helmets to be the commencement of a new era, New Orleans could put a new spin on their traditional gold helmets. That would be a strong statement of times changing.
Could new Saints jerseys be next?

The original report was a helmet and jersey were on the way. Just because the pair wasn’t announced simultaneously doesn’t mean a jersey isn’t still on the way. Maybe jersey will still drop at the end of the month instead of both being revealed together.
When the helmet is announced, we’ll look for what it could pair well with. If the helmet and jersey are truly a package, the color of the helmet could give a hint on what to expect for a new jersey.
