The future of Marcus Rashford has been up in the air since the winter when he went on loan to Aston Villa after being dropped from the squad by Ruben Amorim.
However, when Villa chose not to sign the attacker for £40 million, the door was left open for anyone to swoop in and take the England international.
One thing that wasn’t expected however was for Rashford to remain at Old Trafford, with the 27-year-old being given extended leave to come back to Carrington at a later date to prioritise a summer transfer.
Now, The Athletic has reported that Marcus Rashford rejected the opportunity for extended time off, and has reported to United’s training facility on Monday and Tuesday to join in the pre-season training.
It’s understood that over the last two days, Rashford has been working individually at Carrington, rather that as part of Amorim’s sessions, with the facilities open to all of the squad members to make use of.
However, despite prior reports claiming Rashford will be giving his all to the pre-season training, it’s hard to believe that he’ll be re-integrated into the squad after his number 10 shirt has already been given to Matheus Cunha.
This is a breaking story with more to follow.
