Diego Leon should follow in the same footsteps of one talented Manchester United teammate and roll out the same strategy under Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United agreed to sign Diego Leon back in January when he was only 17 years old and the Paraguayan wonderkid completed his stunning move this summer.
Leon started his playing career at Paraguayan outfit Cerro Porteno and the Red Devils reportedly paid a £6m transfer fee, including add-ons, for the teenager.
United confirmed the signing of Leon on Saturday and the 18-year-old Paraguayan is capable of playing at left-back or as a left wing-back under Ruben Amorim.
Leon was one of the United players who reported at Carrington on Monday for the first day of pre-season training ahead of the Red Devils’ forthcoming summer tour.
The Red Devils talent is expected to feature on the pre-season campaign in Europe and the United States and could offer United fans a closer look at his playing ability.

What Man Utd wonderkid Diego Leon can learn from Leny Yoro after he left Cerro Porteno and completed his Old Trafford transfer
It remains to be seen the role that Diego Leon is expected to play under Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim in the 2025-26 Premier League season at Old Trafford.
Leon is likely to play more for the United youth academy and could potentially secure sporadic first-team cameos under Amorim in the upcoming season.
However, the Red Devils could also explore sending the United left-back out on loan, including potentially returning him to former side Cerro Porteno for a second spell.
No matter what the situation is around Leon at United right now, the Red Devils teenager should look at fellow youngster Leny Yoro as a source of inspiration.
Leny Yoro was only 18 years old when he arrived at Old Trafford and the Frenchman impressed in his debut season at the Red Devils after his 2024 transfer from Lille.
The United defender showed exactly why he was destined to succeed last season after the “secret” advice that he received from club legend Rio Ferdinand.
Speaking to Yoro as part of United’s official media channels in 2024, Rio Ferdinand told the player after he signed: “Leny, Leny, Leny, how you doing, bro?
“Listen, congratulations. Welcome to Manchester United, man. I wish you all the best. I know you’re going to work hard, and that’s the secret, man.
“Work hard. Work hard. Work, work, work on all your parts of the game.
“You’ve got all the potential. You’ve got all the tools, man. You’ve got everything there. Ready to rock and roll to make a big impact at this club.”

Diego Leon can now see why Leny Yoro made his mark after the important message from Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand
Rio Ferdinand played a key part in convincing Leny Yoro to sign for United in the first place last summer, with Real Madrid linked with the defender at the time.
United splashed out an initial fee of £52.18m, including a further £6.73m in add-ons, to land the 19-year-old Red Devils centre-back from Ligue 1 outfit Lille in 2024.
Yoro’s 2024-25 season was curtailed in the opening months after a pre-season injury last summer, but the former Real Madrid target made a big mark on his return.
Erik ten Hag was sacked as United manager before Yoro made his return from the sidelines and Amorim wasted no time turning to the former Lille star.
Yoro effortlessly slotted into Amorim’s tactical system at United and the Red Devils teenager has continued to blossom in the three-man backline as a key player.
If Leon were ever looking for inspiration for how to succeed at United, then he doesn’t need to look much further than how Yoro seized his opportunity last season.
