Ruben Amorim may only have taken charge of Manchester United in November, but the Portuguese already finds himself under intense pressure at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils endured a torrid season last term – initially under Erik ten Hag before he was succeeded by Amorim – eventually finishing 15th in the Premier League table and therefore failing to qualify for Europe next season.
Amorim will likely want to bolster his squad ahead of the new season, despite already adding Matheus Cunha to his drop of players.
Now, though, it appears that the Portuguese has made a big decision on the future of one of his current players.
According to GiveMeSport, Amorim has made something of a u-turn and is now willing to have Andre Onana as his first choice goalkeeper for the upcoming season.
Onana joined the Red Devils from Inter Milan in 2023 having impressed during his time in Italy, but he has since been inconsistent for United.

The Cameroon international has made a number of high profile mistakes for the Manchester club, and the report suggests that Amorim had intended to add a new ‘keeper to his squad this summer.
Now, though, the ex-Sporting CP boss has decided that he is happy for Onana to be part of his squad for the upcoming campaign.
While Amorim has changed his mind on Onana, the report does also claim that he is still pushing those in charge of United to sign a new goalkeeper to provide competition for the Cameroonian’s place in his starting line up.
Onana has played 101 times for United across all competitions since his £47 million move from Inter, keeping 24 clean sheets.
He is under contract at Old Trafford until the end of the 2027/28 season.
