Latest playmaker rankings prove Eagles are in prime position to repeat as champions

You really didn't need another reason to be stoked about the Eagles' season at this point. Between the parade to kickoff the offseason and the flurry of moves that somehow made them better, it's a wonderful time to be a Birds fan.

But we've been waiting for one thing for the last six months – the one thing that could really put a crown on such an accomplished offseason: the approval of ESPN. That came on Tuesday morning, when NFL writer [Bill Barnwell ranked the Eagles' group of playmakers #1](https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45679684/ranking-nfl-teams-wr-te-rb-groups-2025-season-best-players-playmakers-offense#PHI). The Eagles may never lose again. Here's a little of his reasoning:

ESPN thinks the Eagles' have the best group of playmakers in the NFL

_**"After years of top-10 finishes, the Eagles did just enough to earn the top spot. Their big addition last offseason was a key difference-maker. Saquon Barkley stayed healthy, and while he certainly benefited from playing next to Jalen Hurts and behind a great offensive line, he produced one of the greatest seasons by any back in NFL history. He topped 2,000 rushing yards, led the league in just about every advanced metric for a running back and added 278 receiving yards and two scores. The Tush Push cost Barkley a shot at another handful of short-yardage rushing touchdowns, but he had a truly special campaign. There just aren't many other backs in the league, with Christian McCaffrey and perhaps Derrick Henry aside, who have a path to that sort of upside.**_

_**If you prefer the Lions or Bengals to what the Eagles can offer, I wouldn't take much issue. This is a narrow race at the top. When a team can field a top-five wideout, another top-15 wideout and a guy coming off one of the best running back seasons in NFL history on any given snap, though, I don't think anyone can take much issue with Philadelphia having the best group of playmakers in football."**_

No arguments here – it's hard to find a team with more talent on offense than the Eagles have with Hurts, Barkley, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and that offensive line. And it's not like you really needed any sort of reminder that the Eagles sure do look like a team that's going to go back-to-back, but it never hurts to hear ESPN say it. When the worldwide leader gives us a new reason to be insufferable, it'd be foolish to pass it up.
