Former Manchester United star Angel Di Maria has taken the next step in his career, opting to rejoin one of his former clubs.
The Argentina international spent a year at Old Trafford for the 2014/15 between stints at Real Madrid and his long-term stay at PSG.
Whilst his time with United wasn’t a long one, the winger made his mark, with four goals and 11 assists in 32 games before heading to Ligue 1.
Now, Di Maria is headed back to one of his former clubs for the second time in his career after re-joining Benfica in 2023, the club which marked his arrival in Europe back in 2010.

However, the 37-year-old is now set for a major homecoming, as he’s set to be unveiled by his hometown side, Rosario Central.
Taking to their official site to announce the unveiling of Angel Di Maria, Rosario Central commented: “Club Atlético Rosario Central announces that a press conference will be held this Monday at 1:00 PM in the Centenario Hall to mark Ángel Di María’s return to Arroyito.
The statement continued: “This press conference is held every time a new player joins our professional roster; as usual, it will be open to the press and without an audience. National and international media outlets, who have been accredited in a timely manner to provide the necessary media coverage, will participate.
“We’d also like to inform you that Ángel’s “presentation” to Rosario Central fans will take place at the Gigante de Arroyito stadium next Saturday, July 12th, during our team’s debut in the first division tournament, scheduled for 4:00 PM against Godoy Cruz.
“We look forward to seeing you there, so we can once again celebrate the biggest celebration in Argentine football.”
