Arsenal have enjoyed a very fruitful first eight days of July with significant moves made for multiple summer transfer targets alongside finalising three deals.
A lot of the details for the Martin Zubimendi move were sorted back in February with a back-up goalkeeper, defender, wide forward and striker wanted in addition to that. Kepa Arrizabalaga has filled the void for the former and there are talks ongoing to fill all of those positions.
Viktor Gyokeres looks to be Arsenal's choice for the No.9 role with club chiefs now seemingly working overtime to reach an agreement to sign him from Sporting CP. Eberechi Eze, Rodrygo, Noni Madueke and Ademola Lookman are the options to bolster the attack while Cristhian Mosquera is the centre-back being targeted.
With all of that being said, football.london has provided a fresh perspective on the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.
Norgaard transfer announcement imminent
Having confirmed Zubimendi and Kepa as new Arsenal players, it is now Christian Norgaard's turn to be at the centre of a transfer announcement.
The Athletic stated on Tuesday morning that the Gunners have completed the signing with £10million plus £2million in bonuses heading to Brentford for their club captain. It was also stated that his arrival is due to be announced this week.
football.london says: It has arguably been clear since the turn of the month that all of Kepa, Zubimendi and Norgaard were going to be Arsenal players but it certainly makes sense to spread out those transfer announcements.
Norgaard is hardly a glamorous signing but it is certainly a necessary one and for the reported fee, it is an absolute steal. In the meantime, Berta has been able to work on multiple deals and hopefully set up a steady stream of incomings for the remainder of the summer.
With five days between statements on Zubimendi and Kepa, Friday seems to be the most likely day for a transfer confirmation, especially as an announcement video will need to be prepared.
Gyokeres bombshell date set
Following on from advanced talks taking place for Gyokeres, the updates since have been relatively small. It is clear that negotiations between Arsenal and Sporting are still taking place with the latest suggesting a full agreement is close.
The Standard have claimed the aim is to have a deal fully wrapped up for Gyokeres by Friday, June 11 which would be when Gyokeres is due to report back to pre-season at Sporting.
football.london says: That bombshell Gyokeres to Arsenal update seems extremely close with it likely a decision has already been made in north London.
If the Gunners want this deal done as soon as possible, accepting they will have to meet the Portuguese champions' demands is the clear solution. That seems absolutely fine in this scenario especially as there is only a small financial gap in what the two clubs want.
More summer incomings are still wanted in north London and thus the best thing to do in this case is to pay up before switching onto other targets.
