Former Kentucky Wildcats National Player of the Year and 2012 No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick Anthony Davis recently had surgery to repair a detached retina. That’s according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Dallas Mavericks All-Star Anthony Davis underwent a procedure to repair a detached retina that he suffered during the season, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Davis was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers last February. He played just 11 games for Dallas while limited by a groin injury, averaging 33.5 points and nine rebounds per game.
Thankfully, Davis is expected to be ready by training camp, and he will team with this year’s No. 1 overall pick, Cooper Flagg, as the Mavericks look to get back to Western Conference contention this upcoming season.
