After three days of summer league action in Salt Lake City, the [Utah Jazz](https://www.slcdunk.com) ended 3-0. Tonight they took out the Oklahoma City Thunder 86-82. The Jazz were led by Walt Clayton Jr. and Kyle Filipowski, who were too much for the Thunder.
Clayton got the opportunity to get more shine tonight with Ace Bailey and Brice Sensabaugh sitting out this one. He took advantage with 20 points and 4 assists. It was a window into what Clayton can do and what he’ll need to learn. Clayton is already proving to be a great shooter from beyond the arc. In this one, he shot 4/10 from three and showed that if he’s left open, he’s going to knock down the shot. Where he’s finding a little struggle is with getting some separation in the half-court. In transition, he’s showing great speed and is finishing well, but there were times when the size and length in half-court sets are something he’ll need to learn to maneuver. The good news is that Clayton runs a pick and roll smoothly and can pull up from three when he needs to. If he can continue developing as a passer, there’s no reason that he can’t become a weapon in a variety of ways in half-court sets.
Kyle Filipowski had a nice rebounding night. For the game, he had 15 rebounds while the Jazz as a whole had 28. That’s a good sign for Filipowski in terms of inside play, but he does need to show more as an inside defender. Flip has too much size to be so unimpactful at times near the basket. He’s never going to be a high-level rim protector, but he also can’t be a traffic cone. Filipowski has shown different things he can do offensively that really help a team win, but it’s clear he’s got some development to do in a variety of areas to be a winning rotation player for a contending team. But that’s what summer league is for and the players who take advantage will continue to work their way into the future of the Jazz. Those who don’t may find themselves left behind quickly.
And just like that, the Salt Lake City Summer League is already finished. The [Las Vegas Summer League](http://www.sbnation.com/nba-summer-league) is right around the corner, and let’s hope we get a huge dose of Ace Bailey, Walt Clayton Jr., and a chance to see John Tonje as well.
