The £67m attacker has been linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan this summer.
However, the decision on which striker to sign will likely come down to budget, with striker Hojlund linked with a move away after what was a poor season at Old Trafford last year.
Hojlund wants to stay at Man United
The Danish international struggled to produce as Man United’s main number nine last year, scoring 10 goals in 52 games for the Red Devils. It sparked suggestions that United will sign a new number nine in the summer.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “Rasmus Højlund doesn’t want to leave Manchester United this summer, his desire is to stay. The only possibility for sale is in case United decide to advance in talks and proceed with his exit. Inter, keen for weeks but deal now in stand-by.”

It is not understood how much Inter would be willing to pay for Hojlund, but considering that United paid a lot for him in 2023, they likely won’t want to sell him on the cheap. Napoli had also previously been credited with interest, but it seems that Inter are the front-runners to sign Hojlund should he leave Man United this summer.
Who could Man United replace Hojlund with?
Whether Hojlund leaves or not, United are expected to sign a striker. However, they will have less money to play with should they decide to keep the 22-year-old. If that is the case, then they could sign free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer.
Aston Villa’s Watkins remains linked, however, the Red Devils will only be able to afford him if they do make a couple of player sales to help balance the books. It hasn’t been reported as to whether the England international would be prepared to move from Europa League side Villa to United, who don’t have European football.
