Gabrielle Union had seen her husband, Dwyane Wade, handle many high-pressure moments both on and off the court. However, watching the former NBA star lose his cool over a celebrity was something completely unexpected.
During his appearance on Today with Jenna & Friends, the 43-year-old retired athlete recalled a hilarious moment when he attended an event in Hollywood as the Bring It On star's date.
Admitting that he "didn't know about the Hollywood life," he was nervous because he was in a different environment.
However, amid the sea of celebrities, one person stood out to him the most.
Being a devoted fan of the hit TV show Scandal, Dwyane Wade opened up about the first time he met actress Bellamy Young.
He revealed that he had a major fanboy moment, so much so that he yelled out her character's name, Mellie Grant, when he saw her.
"I just screamed it. I didn't even know that was in me," he recalled laughing, adding, "She turned around and looked and waved and came over. And we started chatting it up, and my wife was like, ‘You ready to go?' I'm like, ‘No!'"
Young's character was a fan favorite on the show. She played the President of the United States and was married to former President Fitzgerald Grant III, portrayed by Tony Goldwyn.
On the other hand, following the interview with Jenna Bush Hager, Union shared her genuine thoughts about her husband's confession.
In an Instagram Story, she reposted the video and said, "He SCREAMED it y'all. I dieeeeed," recalling the embarrassing moment.

The Space Cadet star and the former Miami Heat standout, who first met in 2007 at a Super Bowl party, officially tied the knot in 2014 in Miami.
Now, the power couple is parents to their daughter Kaavia James, who was born via surrogate in 2018 along with the three-time NBA champion's children from previous relationships: Zaire and Zaya with ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches; son Xavier with Aja Metoyer; and Dahveon Morris, whom he is the legal guardian of.
