The Milwaukee Bucks renewed their young players and then added some veterans via free agency. Among them is 11-year veteran Gary Harris who general manager Jon Horst said he is excited about.
“We are excited to welcome Gary to Milwaukee,” Horst said.

“Gary’s leadership and experience will provide further depth and stability to our backcourt, and his extensive playoff background will be instrumental during the postseason. We are thrilled for Gary to be a Buck.”
Harris, who last played for the Orlando Magic, is expected to take the place of Pat Connaughton who has been traded to the Charlotte Hornets, ending his seven-year tenure with the team that included one NBA title.
Harris indeed has extensive playoff background but his numbers have dipped in the 2025 season. He averaged 14 points per game for the Denver Nuggets in his first ever playoff appearance but only made three points per game for the Orlando Magic last season.

His 48 games played for the Magic last season is also the lowest in his career since arriving there mid-season of 2020.
Gary Harris in Milwaukee Bucks depth
The Bucks’ shooting guard corps is stacked right now and it would be a huge question where Harris will find himself. Some sports sites put him as a third stringer, behind Kevin Porter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr.
He might be used, too, as a small forward behind Kyle Kuzma and Taurean Prince.

However, it is possible that he will get significant minutes. The main condition is he stay healthy and bring back the 3-and-D he is known for since his time with the Nuggets.
He boasts a respectable career averages of 10.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists per game. His performance in the 2024-25 season was heavily affected by hamstring injury. He also suffered from alf and foot injuries before that.
