Bournemouth are accelerating a move to sign Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea to fill their current goalkeeper void, sources have told Football Insider.
The Cherries are in the market for a new shot-stopper, after failing to permanently bring in loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has completed a switch to Arsenal.
Sources say that Petrovic is likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, and the south coast side are one of a number of teams in the race to secure the 25-year-old.
Chelsea have given the green light to Petrovic finding a new club and will sell if their asking price is met.
The Serbia international is valued at just over £20million, and would likely be brought in as Bournemouth’s new number one if the move goes through.

Bournemouth eye deal for outcast Petrovic
Last season, Petrovic was sent out on loan to Strasbourg who, like Chelsea, are owned by the Todd Boehly-led BlueCo group.

The Serbian played every single minute in Ligue 1, bar the first game as his move wasn’t yet completed, and impressed as the French side recorded a 7th-place finish.
However, despite his positive spell, Enzo Maresca clearly doesn’t see the goalkeeper as part of his future plans at Stamford Bridge.
Petrovic was left out of Chelsea’s Club World Cup squad, effectively placing him fourth in the pecking order, behind Robet Sanchez, Filip Jorgensen, and Mike Penders.

‘Noni Madueke to join Arsenal’
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly set to step up their efforts to sign Chelsea star Noni Madueke in the coming days with a formal offer lined up behind the scenes.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that the Blues are prepared to let the 23-year-old join their London rivals.
This comes after the Gunners agreed personal terms with Madueke while Mikel Arteta has laid out plans for the winger’s role in his squad.
Football Insider revealed in April that Maresca has concerns about Madueke’s attitude and whether he fits in with his plans for the future.
