Head Coach Ruben Amorim of Manchester United returns for pre-season at Carrington
Manchester United's players have started to return to pre-season this week as preparations begin to step up ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
will be taking charge of his first pre-season as United boss as he gears up for his first full season in charge.
are expected to be busy in the transfer market - both in terms of incomings and outgoings - but progress has been slow on that front so far.
has arrived in a £62.5million transfer from Wolves while teenage defender Diego Leon has joined from Cerro Porteno.
That's where the signings have stopped, though, while United are yet to sell any players despite a number of players being up for sale.
With that in mind, here is a look at some of the key things on the United manager's to-do list.

Mbeumo integration
United are confident they will sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo and the Cameroon international is keen to make the move to Old Trafford.
Two bids for the 25-year-old have been rejected so far but there is a confidence a deal will get done this summer.
Mbeumo scored 20 goals last season and is expected to line up alongside Cunha in the two attacking midfield roles in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 formation.
With 37 goals between them last season, once Mbeumo's arrival is confirmed, one of Amorim's key task is to successfully integrate them into United's side.
Fixing United's goals problem
It has been well documented that the 44 goals United scored in the Premier League last season was the fifth lowest total of any side in the division.
Cunha and Mbeumo should help address that but a new striker, given Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee managed just seven league goals between them, is a must in the transfer market.
Liam Delap joined Chelsea, while Viktor Gyokeres is closing in on a move to Arsenal. Galatasaray are ramping up their efforts to sign Napoli forward Victor Osimhen permanently, too, and Amorim will be keen for United to make some progress in their pursuit of signing a new forward.
Shipping out the wantaway five
It was no major surprise when it was confirmed on Friday that Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia had asked to leave the club.
Amorim had long since decided Garnacho could leave at the right price while the other four players spent last season on loan elsewhere and have been out of the manager's plans for a while.
United need to recoup money for all five players but also need to find a resolution quickly so that they aren't still at the club late in the transfer window.
Having given them a couple of extra weeks to find a new club before returning to Carrington, Amorim will want to see progress on their departures in the next two weeks.
