Leeds United plot double transfer as £17m release clause claim emerges

Leeds United completed their fourth signing of the summer on Tuesday with the arrival of Gabriel Gudmundsson.

United signed Gudmundsson in a long-term deal from Lille, who will join Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw in playing at Elland Road next season. The Whites are still in preparation mode for their return to the Premier League next term.

Daniel Farke and Co. will be looking to add more new signings to the Leeds squad ahead of their return to the top flight. There have already been rumours claiming to provide updates on which players could now be of interest to United ahead of the September 1 deadline.

Here, Leeds Live takes a look at some of the latest Leeds transfer news and gossip that has generated headlines over the last 24 hours.

Newcastle duo wanted

Leeds are reportedly showing an interest in signing Newcastle duo Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock.

Longstaff has been linked with a move to United for some time, and now TEAMtalk has claimed that the midfielder and Willock are both players of interest to Leeds.

The report claims that Leeds have identified Willock as a target in the event they fail to bring Manor Solomon back to Elland Road following his loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur.

Serie A goalkeeper wanted

Leeds have been credited with an interest in signing Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

Journalist Alfredo Pedulla has claimed that United are joined by Napoli in showing an interest in signing Milinkovic-Savic, who is reported to have a €20million (£17.3million) release clause.

The report claims that Leeds are weighing up whether or not to pay the release clause in Milinkovic-Savic's contract, with the club continuing to monitor the goalkeeper's future.
