Ethan Nwaneri response to Eberechi Eze Arsenal transfer question speaks volumes

Eberechi Eze is of interest to Arsenal this summer, football.london understands, with the Crystal Palace man one of a handful of targets Andrea Berta is monitoring.

Berta and Mikel Arteta are keen to bolster the Gunners' attack in the coming weeks, with Viktor Gyokeres nearing a move from Sporting CP. Capable of playing in attacking midfield and on the left wing, Eze is seen as an ideal player to come into the squad and add extra quality.

Rodrygo is considered the dream transfer target, football.london has previously reported, but Eze's Premier League experience is a real attraction. Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi have already made the move to north London and a deal for Christian Norgaard is all but agreed.

Eze could also be playing his football at Emirates Stadium for the 2025/26 season and beyond if the Gunners can agree a fee with the Eagles. Interestingly, Ethan Nwaneri was asked about Eze's potential move by a young fan.

Nwaneri, who helped England Under-21s win the European U21 Championship in Slovakia last month, is currently enjoying some extra time off ahead of the upcoming season. A video has emerged on social media, however, of the Hale Ender being asked by a young supporter if Eze is indeed making the move from Palace to Arsenal.

Nwaneri gives little away as the boy says: "I know you know." In fact, Nwaneri doesn't say a word as he just smiles and poses for a picture before the clip ends.

With Gyokeres and Norgaard closing in on moves to Arsenal, it remains to be seen if Eze will follow the duo to north London. If he does, though, the Englishman has already revealed what he will bring to the Gunners. Speaking to BBC Sport before scoring the winner in the FA Cup final against Man City, the 27-year-old said: "It’s easy to lose sight of — especially (with) the type of player I am — why I’m doing what I’m doing.

"Why do I run with the ball? Why do I try things? Why am I creative? Why do I do things that maybe players wouldn’t think to do?

“The reason is for the people who are watching. It’s what you’re doing to people in the stands and how you can get people off their feet; that’s what football’s about. It feels like football is starting to shift a bit, and there’s maybe not as much of that, but as long as I play, that’s all I want to do.”
