Former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin would be ‘very open and excited’ to join Manchester United this summer, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The 28-year-old departed Goodison Park on a free transfer earlier this month and has recently been offered to Man United as a low-cost solution up front.
The Red Devils have been on the lookout for a new number nine this summer and have so far struggled in their efforts to lure top targets to Old Trafford, with both Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres snubbing United’s interest.
United are believed to have been made aware of the cost of a potential deal for Calvert-Lewin but have yet to open concrete negotiations with the player.
Calvert-Lewin Wants to Join Man United
‘It’s not yet a concrete negotiation’

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, revealed that Calvert-Lewin has been offered to Man United and would be ‘very excited’ to join:
“What happened with Calvert-Lewin is that the player has been offered to Manchester United. It’s not that Man United started negotiations for Calvert-Lewin as new striker.
“The player has been offered as an opportunity on a free transfer, a cheap opportunity for a player who has experience, knows the league and can be helpful for any club.
“So Man United registered the eventual cost of the deal. It means, obviously, the salary, the commission, the intention of the player, who would be, obviously, very open and excited to join Manchester United eventually in this summer transfer window.
“But at the moment, it’s not yet a concrete negotiation.”
Calvert-Lewin would bring significant Premier League experience to Old Trafford this summer, with 239 appearances, 57 goals and 18 assists to his name in the English top flight.
He made 26 league appearances for Everton last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists, and was named in the starting XI on 19 occasions.
Man United are focused on bringing in reinforcements to Amorim’s frontline at the moment, with talks ongoing for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
The Cameroonian forward is prioritising a move to Old Trafford this summer and is believed to have already agreed personal terms.
