Top Premier League clubs are set to be put on red alert, with Juventus reportedly willing to terminating Dusan Vlahovic’s contract at the club. The striker is keen to leave the Serie A outfit this summer, and he could be available as a free agent sooner rather than later.
Vlahovic scored 17 goals and registered five assists in 44 appearances in all competitions last season, and his performances did not go unnoticed around Europe.
Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are among a host of clubs to have been linked with the Serbian this summer, and he has suitors elsewhere, with AC Milan the latest side to be cited as being among his suitors.
The race to sign Vlahovic could soon heat up though, with Di Marzio reporting that Juve are set to hold talks with the 25-year-old and his entourage in the ‘next few days’ to discuss his future at the club.
The Italian giants are set to propose terminating Vlahovic’s contract as they do not want to continue paying his £20.6million gross salary that he receives each year. It is unclear whether Vlahovic would be open to such an idea, especially as his wage demands have been a sticking point for his suitors previously.
However, the forward is said to remain keen on a move to the Premier League, and it remains to be seen whether any sides look to negotiate with the forward if they can acquire his services as a free agent.
Vlahovic joined Juventus from Fiorentina in 2022 for a fee in the region of £62.5million, and his performances at the Allianz Stadium will not have depreciated his value now that he has proven himself on top European stages.
Arsenal are long-term admirers of the forward and they may be alerted to the situation, especially as their push to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting is yet to bear fruit. The Gunners remain locked in negotiations with the Portuguese outfit over a deal for the wantaway striker, but there remains a gap in valuations as it stands.
Ruben Amorim is also in the market for a new No. 9 at United and Vlahovic has entered his thinking previously, though the Red Devils are in a cost-cutting period and his wages therefore could prove an issue if they look to open talks.
