According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Golden State Warriors have emerged as strong contenders to re-sign Melton in free agency.
Melton appeared in just six games for the Warriors last season before suffering a torn left ACL. He was later traded to the Brooklyn Nets in December, but never played for them due to the injury.
Before going down, Melton averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists last season.

Now 27, Melton has played for the Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers, and Warriors. Over 356 career games, he holds averages of 9.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.
The Warriors have yet to make any moves this offseason as they navigate Jonathan Kuminga's restricted free agency. In addition to Melton, Golden State has also been linked to veteran big man Al Horford.
