West Ham may need to spend big yet again to help Graham Potter this season.

Along with potential incomings at the London Stadium, getting rid of dead wood must also be a priority for the Irons.

After spending over £100million on recruits last summer, the Hammers may need to facilitate some sales to pursue an ambitious move for Tyler Dibling.

Moving on players like Niclas Fullkrug or Nayef Aguerd, who do not have a future in E20, would raise vital funds that could allow West Ham to pursue a move for Southampton’s teenage sensation.

The Irons will have their work cut out, however, with multiple clubs interested in Dibling.

West Ham keen on Dibling as Southampton name their price

In an ideal scenario for Potter, signings such as Dibling would be in addition to the quality players that West Ham already have, like Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, but he is now set to leave.

Florian Plettenberg has now reported on X (9 July) that West Ham, along with Manchester United, Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, all have an interest in Dibling.

Southampton are said to value their man in the region of £47.4-56million.

Despite the Saints’ disastrous Premier League relegation campaign, their 19-year-old midfielder still managed to impress.

Dibling featured prominently for Southampton last season.

Speaking on Sky about Dibling, former West Ham chief Tim Steidten was blown away: “He is an outstanding player – with that street football mentality, that special dynamism.

“He is a player who can suddenly stop, turn, and accelerate again. His first touch is exceptional. He has immense potential.

“I believe he will end up being too expensive for a German club, which is why I think he will move within England.”

🚨🔴⚪️ So far, Southampton have not received any concrete offers for Tyler #Dibling, but there have been many enquiries. Understand Manchester United, Tottenham, Forest and West Ham are keen on him. Southampton’s price valuation is set at €55–65m.

West Ham should break the bank for Dibling

Although the asking price for the midfielder may seem steep, the Hammers should certainly pay it, with nobody making the first move yet.

In Dibling, West Ham would be purchasing a player who could play for them right now, whilst also having immense potential to reach the very top.

If the Englishman thrived under Potter in East London, the Irons would easily double their money should Dibling catch the attention of those at the very top again.

Getting Dibling to E20 alongside a new striker would be a dream scenario for supporters, with the Irons already looking at Andrea Pinamonti.

If West Ham recruit poorly again this summer, then they may have to search for another new manager midway through next season, something this signing could prevent.
