It’s time for Manchester United to strike Bryan Mbeumo deal as his Brentford pre-season return date emerges

Manchester United continue to chase Bryan Mbeumo and really need to push to secure an agreement with Brentford.

Matheus Cunha joined Manchester United early in the window, completing an exciting move from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Ruben Amorim would have surely loved to have more attacking additions on board by now, but deals have proven elusive.

United want Bryan Mbeumo and had hoped to have the Brentford forward snapped up before pre-season training began on July 7.

After all, it’s now more than a month since Mbeumo decided he wanted to join United, but no deal is in place yet.

Brentford stance on Bryan Mbeumo return explained

United returned for pre-season training earlier this week, and it was a similar story at Brentford.

New Bees boss Keith Andrews is starting his first pre-season as a manager, and Mbeumo was not involved.

That situation has now been explained, with The London Evening Standard’s Sam Tabuteau claiming that Mbeumo will not be in training at all this week.

Mbeumo has not been involved in international games, despite Cameroon playing against Uganda and Equatorial Guinea in June.

🚨Been a fair bit of misunderstanding here.

It was my understanding last week that Mbeumo could return to pre-season training as he hadn’t been involved in internationals.

It’s now been clarified that he was always due back next week, Monday 14 July. https://t.co/CEPFB4li15

Most players not involved in international games would have been expected back this week, but Tabuteau claims Mbeumo will only report for pre-season training next week.

That has ‘always’ been the plan with Mbeumo, with the forward set to begin his pre-season training on Monday, July 14.

Maybe Brentford feel that Mbeumo needs more time off in order to clear his head amid all the transfer speculation, or perhaps the Bees are holding off on Mbeumo starting training while talks with United continue.

United will hope to advance a deal with Brentford in the coming days, certainly before Mbeumo starts training with Brentford again.

It’s time for United to strike Bryan Mbeumo deal

United have known for long enough that Mbeumo wants a move to Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur appear to be out of the race for Mbeumo, with the forward absolutely clear on his preference to join United.

The days go by but the deal doesn’t appear to be any closer, and Mbeumo is ‘increasingly frustrated’ with United’s lack of progress.

Mbeumo wants to join United, but he would have wanted this situation thrashed out before returning for pre-season training.

That is now just days away for Mbeumo, so United’s inability to agree a deal is just as frustrating for us as it is for Mbeumo himself.

The time has come for Ineos to strike a deal and finally bring Mbeumo to Old Trafford, with everybody involved surely ready for this saga to end.
