Chelsea's Axel Disasi is one of a number of senior players who are free to leave the club this summer, with the defender not set to be part of the plans of manager Enzo Maresca in the new season.

was permitted to join in the January transfer window on a loan basis for the second half of the season, after they'd sold Diego Carlos to Fenerbahce. The French international made ten appearances for the Lions in all competitions and filled in at centre half and at right-back.

Like Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and others, Disasi , having arrived from Monaco in 2023 for a fee of £38m.

Now, there are suggestions that the Blues will look to recoup as much of that fee as possible, although wary that it's not reasonable to expect their money back. They have set a price tag of £26m for Disasi and already there is interest from home and abroad.

Disasi could remain in the Premier League and in the Champions League with Newcastle United, who finished in the top five and won the EFL Cup last season, reportedly interested, while overseas Unai Emery's former club - and Villa's pre-season opponents - Villarreal have also made contact over a deal,

Villa also bid farewell to fringe player Kortney Hause last season, meaning on their books they currently only have senior trio Pau Torres, Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings, although they've also recruited teenager Yasin Ozcan, who has now arrived from Kasimpasa.
