Manchester United's pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo is no closer to being resolved and reports state that Bryan Mbeumo is growing frustrated at the lack of movement in the deal.

The Reds have targeted a move for the 25-year-old since the season ended and acted quickly to submit an offer. Their first bid worth £55million was rejected before an improved proposal in excess of £60m fell short of the Bees' valuation.

Brentford are understood to want a fee in excess of £63m for their top scorer after being encouraged by other valuations around the market. Chelsea value Arsenal target Noni Madueke at more than £50m and Antony Elanga is close to joining Newcastle United for £55m from Nottingham Forest.

There had been hope that United would get Mbeumo through the door for their pre-season tour to the United States later this month. According to The Standard, Mbeumo is frustrated at the slow progress of negotiations.

Previously, Brentford's director of football Phil Giles admitted that Mbeumo could stay at the club for next season despite strong interest from United. The forward, who scored 20 Premier League goals last term, is due back to the Bees' training ground for pre-season on Monday.

In better news for United, reports on Tuesday stated that they remain confident in striking a deal for Mbeumo. The Mirror have reported that negotiations between the two clubs over the fee and the structure of payments are ongoing.

United's ongoing pursuit of Mbeumo is also stalling the club's pursuit of a new striker. Amorim is set to miss out on Viktor Gyokeres and talk of potential free agents being signed have emerged this week.
