Sunderland have to pay €30m to sign player – First bid has been made

Sunderland’s interest in Sassuolo’s Armand Lauriente has been reported by the Italian and French press in the last few days.

Developments about the Frenchman have emerged today and Gazzetta dello Sport cover the Black Cats’ initial bid for the winger.

They’re not sure how much Sunderland offered but do know Sassuolo rejected the approach, as they want more money. As far as the Italian newspaper has it, the Neroverdi are awaiting a new offer and the move has stalled until that arrives.

While Gazzetta do not provide information about Sassuolo’s valuation of Lauriente, some details are added by SassuoloNews.

They claim that the Italian side want €30m to sell the Frenchman and are not looking to offer any discounts. The 26-year-old is interested in a move to Sunderland and after spending about three seasons at Sassuolo, is looking for a new adventure.

He’s attracted by a move to England, with SassuoloNews also backing up the stance that Regis Le Bris’ side have had an offer rejected.

The outlet add that Sunderland are not willing to give up on the winger and Florent Ghisolfi is keen on continuing discussions for a summer transfer.
