Man Utd have 'never been so close' to completing first sale of the summer with everything agreed - Journalist

Manchester United’s summer feels like it is on standby until the club can sell some of the unwanted players currently on the books.

Ineos are yet to sell a single player this summer despite grand plans to overhaul Ruben Amorim’s team.

However, Manchester United are pushing a number of players toward the exit doors. In an effort to do so, United have told five players not to return for pre-season.

However, Marcus Rashford didn’t get the memo when pre-season started this week as he returned, only to be cast aside to work individually with Matheus Cunha, being handed his number 10 shirt.

Come August 17th, United will hope to have sold all five of these players who are currently unwanted. With one sale now looking closer than the others right now.

Jadon Sancho is close to completing a move to Juventus

Despite reports, Ben Foster says there is no way United’s five unwanted players have submitted transfer requests, but whether they did or not, there is no way back for this quintet at the club.

One player Ineos will be desperate to find a permanent solution for is Sancho. With the £72m winger being sent back from Chelsea, who paid £5m to avoid triggering the £25m option to buy.

Sancho has been in talks with Juventus recently, and this transfer has been edging closer.

Now, according to Italian journalist Marco Giordano, the move has ‘never been so close’ to completion, with the deal almost done, barring any complications which are unforeseeable at the moment.

The journalist claims that everything is settled between Juventus and United, and also the agent, which should suggest that the transfer will go through in the coming days.

How much Manchester United will save from selling Jadon Sancho

If United is to see Sancho depart the club permanently, it would be long overdue and almost two years on from the initial dispute between Sancho and Erik ten Hag.

This would be a huge positive for Amorim and the club to remove a player who won’t ever be reintegrated into the first team squad and would also see financial positives if sold.

United stands to save a huge amount by selling Sancho, which could be in excess of £46.5m.

This is a small fortune and could prove massively influential for United, who can dedicate this amount toward transfers, bolstering the chances of signing a number nine.
