Leeds United interest in Vanja Milinkovic-Savic has been repeatedly covered in the Turin media this week. The goalkeeper has a €19.5m release clause in his Torino contract and Whites interest has been further pushed due to Napoli’s unwillingness to meet that price.
Toro.it report that amidst interest from Leeds United, Milinkovic-Savic arrived at the Granata’s training camp yesterday. He seemed ‘excited but thoughtful’ about his situation, which is quite uncertain.
The outlet explain the Serbian is yet to issue any response to the Yorkshire club about his decision, as the player is unsure about whether he will get regular first-team football or not.
Leeds United are yet to meet Torino’s asking price for the 28-year-old and no other suitors have signalled they’re willing to trigger his release clause.
The belief is that Milinkovic-Savic is unlikely to stay at Torino’s training camp until the last day, with an exit midway through preseason possible.
Napoli’s interest has faded and even though AS Monaco have joined the race, there is still hope for Leeds United. Everything depends on how much they end up offering and what assurances are offered to the player.
