€50m Aston Villa offer won’t sway player – Unai Emery needs to look elsewhere

Barcelona striker Ferran Torres is uninterested in a move to Aston Villa, even if they were to offer €50m for him this summer.

That’s [according to Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/ferran-torres-claro-futuro-119508698), who report that Torres is happy at the Catalan club and has no intention of departing any time soon.

They report that Torres has begun his fifth season at the club with the same enthusiasm and hunger to prove himself. Indeed, this year he believes he could challenge Robert Lewandowski further.

That means he’s ignoring any transfer rumours, despite them continuing to swirl. The latest is that Aston Villa are interested in signing him and could offer close to €50m to do so.

Sport, though, insist that has not been finalised in any way and Torres would have no interest in listening to it anyway. He’s more than happy at the Camp Nou and won’t be entertaining any interest from Unai Emery’s side.

That’s if there is any, anyway. Aston Villa have been linked to Torres in pretty much every transfer window since 2023 without anything ever really happening.

Given their current finances after missing out on the Champions League, it’s unlikely they’ll be offering €50m for him any time soon either.

This instead feels like Torres and his camp perhaps looking for a bit of affection, or even a pay rise, by dropping just how much he loves Barcelona despite the big scary money from the Premier League being on offer.
