Jorgen Strand Larsen will be buzzing after hearing who could partner him at Wolves, it’s a…

Wolves must build their summer plans around the goalscoring talents of Jorgen Strand Larsen, someone who enjoyed an impressive debut Premier League campaign.

Strand Larsen amassed 14 goals in England’s top flight, only trailing Matheus Cunha by one, with the Brazilian since joining Manchester United.

Cunha was a key line of supply into the Norwegian, as the duo single-handedly kept Wolves in the Premier League last term.

Now the 26-year-old has moved on to Old Trafford, Wolves are establishing several attacking reinforcements. Fer Lopez became their first signing of the summer towards the end of June, but his arrival won’t fill the void in attack.

So, Vitor Pereira is looking at capturing at least one more number 10 and a striker to rival Strand Larsen, with one player ticking all the boxes.

Wolves target Wallace Yan can offer blistering pace in attack

As seen on many occasions last season, Strand Larsen was often an isolated figure up top. If the 25-year-old won a flick-on, there was often no one running in behind to capitalise.

On the final day of the season, Wolves proved how effective route one football still is, as Strand Larsen’s flicked header into the path of Marshall Munetsi resulted in a goal against Brentford.

That is a strategy Pereira could implement in 2025/26, encouraging the goalkeeper to go long with his kicks. However, for the plan to work efficiently, the Portuguese tactician needs to sign a willing runner to play alongside the Norwegian, and that is where Flamengo striker Wallace Yan comes into the equation.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

Wolves have been linked with Wallace following his impressive performances at the Club World Cup, where he scored against LA FC and Chelsea before being knocked out by Bayern Munich.

Flamengo are willing to sell Wallace for between €15 million and €25 million, which could be a bargain for someone who is only 20-years-old.

More importantly, the Brazilian youngster would offer some incredible attributes to Wolves, most notably his pace in behind and his instinctive finishing.

Wolves lack pace in attack

Although Hwang Hee-chan is no slouch and Goncalo Guedes has a bit of speed, neither are seen as long-term solutions to Wolves’ lack of depth in attack.

That is why Pereira is arguably looking at someone who can offer electric pace in behind defences, something the Wanderers have missed since the departure of Pedro Neto to Chelsea.

Wallace being on their agenda makes total sense, as he’s someone who has huge potential, possesses blistering speed and offers an option to either challenge Strand Larsen from the bench or start alongside him.

Wolves have become known for their speed in transition since returning to the Premier League, and adding Wallace to their squad would enable some fast breaks and exciting football.
