Jorge Mendes offers player to Manchester City and Barcelona after Aston Villa experience

Marco Asensio had a successful loan at Aston Villa during the 2024/25 season, and many expected a potential return to the Birmingham club.

Gazzetta dello Sport report Paris Saint-Germain are looking to permanently sell the winger this summer and Jorge Mendes has been tasked with finding a destination.

The super agent has offered the Spaniard to both Barcelona and Manchester City, as he hopes to find a solution for Asensio after he showed some his level at Aston Villa last season.

The winger has also been offered to Inter Milan, who had come close to signing Asensio in the January transfer window before Aston Villa took him.

Now, they are interested once again and are considering a move. The Spain international’s wage demands are currently proving to be a problem for the Nerazzurri, who have to rely on the player reducing his salary.

Manchester City haven’t expressed any opening for a move, even though Asensio’s current deal at PSG expires in the summer of 2026 and the French club will not ask for a major transfer fee.

Inter are leading the race and everything will likely depend on whether the 29-year-old agrees to take a wage cut or not.
