Ruben Amorim sets new Bryan Mbeumo transfer deadline as Man United prepare new bid

Manchester United have now been in talks for Bryan Mbeumo for well over a month this summer.

The Red Devils turned their attention to Bryan Mbeumo after wrapping up a £62.5m deal for Matheus Cunha.

But Manchester United’s quick start to the transfer window very quickly ran out of steam when Brentford moved the goalposts regarding Mbeumo’s asking price.

United have already had two bids rejected, the first worth a total of £55m, while the second was worth £62.5m – the same fee paid for Cunha this summer.

Mbeumo has grown frustrated at the lack of progress made in the deal, and it seems Ruben Amorim is also applying pressure from Carrington.

When Ruben Amorim wants Bryan Mbeumo signed by

This week marked the start of United’s pre-season training at Carrington, with new signings Diego Leon and Cunha meeting their new teammates.

Amorim will have plenty of time with his players on the training pitch, with the first friendly against Leeds United on July 19.

According to The Mirror, Amorim wants Mbeumo signed before July 22, when United jet off to the United States for the 2025 pre-season tour, where they will participate in the Premier League Summer Series.

Ineos have already let Amorim down by not getting the majority of this summer’s business done before the beginning of pre-season training.

That not only includes incomings such as Mbeumo, but also sales. Marcus Rashford returned to Carrington earlier this week despite being advised to stay away.

Man United’s third Bryan Mbeumo bid should be enough

Despite United taking over a month to negotiate Mbeumo, the noise coming out of the discussions is that it is still likely to happen.

Mbeumo has not returned to pre-season training at Brentford as he waits for a summer move, and it seems United are on the verge of submitting a third (and hopefully, final) bid.

The Mirror report from above suggests Brentford are holding out for around £65m for Mbeumo – just a few million more than the second bid was valued at.

Fabrizio Romano claims United are inching closer to Mbeumo with talks ongoing, and fans can be hopeful that the saga will soon be over.

With Amorim hoping the forward arrives by July 22, it suggests Mbeumo could make his debut against West Ham five days later.
