'Not even £165m': Journalist gives update around future of key Newcastle United player amid…

**Newcastle United are determined to keep hold of their top stars this summer and are ready to reject massive bids for their key players.**

The Magpies already slapped triple-figure valuations on the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon to try to put off potential buyers, and a new name has been added to the list.

Manchester City have been linked with a move for full-back Tino Livramento, who stepped up in a big way for Eddie Howe last season.

Not only did Livramento make the right-back slot his own, but he was also swapped to the left when Lewis Hall's season ended prematurely, and Tino took to his new role like a duck to water, making fans wonder if he might actually be better on the left. After all, it was a Livramento cross that was nodded down by Jacob Murphy into the path of Alexander Isak for the winning goal at Wembley.

Tino Livramento is wanted by Manchester City

--------------------------------------------

Tino also got called up to the senior England team, but was then made available to Lee Carsley for the U21 Euros where he put in several top performances, putting himself in the frame for Player of the Tournament.

All of that just increased Pep Guardiola's desire to bring the 22-year-old to Manchester City as a replacement for Kyle Walker, who has signed for Burnley.

However, Craig Hope has said in his [Newcastle Confidential column](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14885263/Newcastle-United-transfer-news-Craig-Hope-Isak-Elanga-Trafford-Livramento.html) that Newcastle have no intention of selling Livramento after it was claimed Man City would come in with a £65 million bid, with Hope saying he's been told that £165 million wouldn't be enough.

Newcastle United are not a selling club

---------------------------------------

That's a bold statement by Newcastle, who signed Livramento two years ago for £32 million, and even then, many outlets claimed we'd overpaid after his ACL injury kept him out of action for a year.

Tino proved the doubters wrong last season, and we're glad that the club have no intention of letting him go. He and his best mate, Lewis Hall, have all the potential in the world to go on and be England's full-back pairing for many years. The longer they both play at the same club together, the stronger they will become.

We think that other clubs and even media outlets are starting to realise that Newcastle are no longer a stepping stone. When we sign top players, it's because we deserve top players; we're not just here to give them a platform to prove to other clubs what they can do.
