Manchester United could agree a deal to bring Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Old Trafford this summer.
The 28-year-old is currently without a club, after announcing that he was leaving the Toffees following the expiration of his contract.
Last season, the England international started just 19 Premier League games due to a combination of injury and selection, and managed just three goals for David Moyes’ side.
Following his departure from Goodison Park, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Calvert-Lewin will have offers to stay in the Premier League, with both Fulham and Newcastle interested.
However, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the striker will instead join up with Ruben Amorim at Man United.

Calvert-Lewin deal highlights Man United’s poor transfer window
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Calvert-Lewin is likely to end up at Old Trafford, despite the fact that Newcastle are long-term admirers of the Englishman.

Man United look to have missed out on their main centre-forward target, Viktor Gyokeres, who is set to join Arsenal.
Wyness added that the fact United’s pursuit of Calvert-Lewin shows just how far down their list of striker targets they have got.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think Man United are going to end up with Dominic, which is an indication of how far down the pecking order of their targets Man United have got.
“Look, I think he’s a great player. I think he could do very well at Man United, and I think that’s probably where he’s going to end up, unless Newcastle can really push something through now.
“I think he would have been great at Newcastle. I know they’ve been admirers of him for a long time. A fit Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a Premier League striker, there’s no doubt.
“He’s a talent and I think he fits that Newcastle formation very, very well, particularly with Anthony Gordon playing wide, who knows Dominic very well, of course. I think that would have been the preferred option.
“I know that there’s been discussions, there seem to be sticking points on wages and different things. For both Newcastle and Dominic, I’d rather see him there.”

‘Marcus Rashford closes on Barcelona move’
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford is reportedly edging closer to a move away from Man United as Barcelona plan to step up their interest.
That is according to United’s former chief scout, Mick Brown, who claims that the 27-year-old is increasingly likely to move to the Nou Camp on loan.
This comes after Amorim gave the winger extra time off, until the end of this month, to secure himself a move. He had initially been due to return to Carrington at the start of this week for pre-season.
Football Insider revealed on 6 July that Amorim wants to fast-track Rashford’s exit as he originally planned for the deal to be completed before pre-season.
