Nottingham Forest have been credited with an interest in Turkiye international Kerem Akturkoglu.
That’s according to Aspor journalist Emre Kaplan who, via habersarikirmizi.com, says the winger could be on the move again this summer, just 10 months after he signed a five-year contract with Benfica.
Kaplan, who has 225,000 followers on X, says three Premier League teams are tracking the 26-year-old.
He says Forest are ‘the first team to contact Benfica’. Sunderland and Everton are also named.
Benfica are said to have asked for €45million (£38.8m) and that ‘negotiations are still ongoing’. Kaplan adds that Akturkoglu plans to play in the Premier League or Serie A.
Akturkoglu plays primarily left winger, with Forest currently looking to extend Callum Hudson-Odoi’s contract.
However, the wing positions are in a state of flux at present, with Anthony Elanga looking to be on his way to Newcastle United and Ramon Sosa said to be set to move to Palmeiras, with the pair potentially bringing in around £65million.
There has even been speculation over Jota Silva’s future.
Akturkoglu came through the Başakşehir youth set up but made his name with Galatasaray with whom he won two league titles and the Turkish Cup and made 179 appearances. He also scored 46 times and added 42 assists.
Last season, his first in Portugal, he played an impressive 59 games as Benfica won the Portuguese Cup and reached the knockout stages of the Champions League, Akturkoglu had 34 goal involvements, including 18 goals. He has also played 44 times for his country.
Forest are also said to have identified Belgian international Johan Bakayoko as a replacement for Elanga.
