THE DAILY BLOVIATION

Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!
The doors are closed in Berea, at least to the media. What's going on inside the facility, if much of anything, remains a mystery, and today's Browns news reflects the quiet.
Less quiet are the lawyers, who are getting media coverage for their lawsuits against the state and team for their "unclaimed funds" scheme. You can read about lawsuits in places like the News-Herald, ESPN, and CBS Sports, but they're mostly catching up with stories that we already highlighted yesterday.
All of that is ongoing, but in the meantime, other entities are more focused on the future. The City of Brook Park has eagerly updated its zoning regulations to allow for the new domed stadium, and even Cleveland's mayor has seemingly hit the final "acceptance" stage of dealing with bad news. He's expressing remorse about the team's exit, but seemingly more focused on what to do with the 50 acres of lakefront land he now has to play with.
Partially due to the inevitability of JimmyWorld, the Haslam Sports Group is being taken quite seriously, emerging as one of the top twenty "most valuable sports empires" on the planet, according to CNBC.
Outside of legal wrangling and financial enrichment, the Cleveland Browns news is pretty sparse. There are several reviews and look-forwards at training camp that might be of interest:

THE LIFT
The lift
Positive news from the world of sports and beyond...
Across Texas, kids raise thousands for flood relief with lemonade stands - (goodgoodgood.co)
Why memento mori is the ultimate life hack - (bigthink.com)
Realizing that we all check out is part of life. It is generally, however, not top of mind. There are a lot more pleasant things to think about than the gaping unknown. However, a life-or-death experience can be remarkably valuable in putting things into perspective. What is essential isn't the meetings, the work, or the administrative tasks of life. It's people, and the impact you've had on those around you.
I sometimes wonder if I shouldn't apply what few skills I have to something with broader impact than simply writing about the Cleveland Browns and trying to survive on the proceeds. But then I realize, at the end of the day, what's actually important are the relationships created by this site and the positive impact it's had on people's lives. Marriages, businesses, and friendships have emerged from our discussion forums and the OBR as a whole. Outside of my family and raising kids, it's actually something that, if not infinite, has at least had some positive ripple effects. That's enough for me.
