The Rashford transfer situation heats up as Manchester United haven’t found a solution on the player yet. The English attacker also wants to take the next step in his career. Rashford has joined his parent club after spending a fruitful loan spell in Aston Villa during the second half of the season. Rashford, one of the most talented academy players ever produced by Manchester United, found it hard under Ruben Amorim’s system. Eventually, he made a shocking loan move to Aston Villa in the winter. While many critics considered him finished, Rashford proved them all wrong with his rejuvenated performance for Aston Villa. The 27-year old showed a glimpse of his sheer qualities and delivered his statement that he has still got it. Amidst all, Amorim doesn’t have any role for Marcus in his team. Understanding the situation, Rashford has made up his mind to finally leave his boyhood club this summer.

In recent years, Spanish top division football has seen a lot of English players flourishing here. Marcus Rashford can be the newest addition to the list. The player has a release clause of £40 million but, Aston Villa don’t want to trigger that. Rashford’s short but impactful spell at the Villa Park is over. Now for the betterment of his career, he wants to depart from the Old Trafford, too. Having already expressed his desire, Rashford badly wants to join Hansi Flick’s Barcelona. But the deal is not that simple, as Barcelona also are reluctant to activate the clause. So right now, either Rashford has to reduce his wage or he has to wait until someone leaves the Catalan club this summer. Veteran Polish striker Robert Lewandowski’s departure is also a low possibility. On the other hand, Barcelona remain focused on Nico Williams’ deal. Nico wants to join the La Liga champions too but the club’s financial crisis is still causing an issue. The only way Rashford can sign for Barcelona is if Nico decides to go to Bayern München. The Rashford transfer dilemma continues.
What Rashford Brings to the Table
Marcus Rashford is a versatile winger who can also play in the midfield. Last season he made 25 appearances in total in the EPL. However, he struggled finding the back of the net; he managed to bag 6 goals and 3 assists. But it is an injustice for a player like Rashford to be criticised with only last season’s stats. Since making his debut for Man United back in 2015, he has scored 89 goals and registered 42 assists in 297 games. A fast winger who is lethal in cutting inside and shooting, Rashford poses a constant threat at the rival’s box. He is smooth in transitions and can be a big weapon in counter pressing. It is so clear to understand why Rashford wants the transfer to happen in Barcelona. Under Flick, his playing style will surely shake up the backlines. Regardless of his bad habit of sudden inconsistency on the field, Rashford is still agile and fit enough to shine in a new colour.

If Not Barcelona, What’s Next for Rashford
His chance of joining Barcelona is more difficult than it seems. Other than the Spanish giants, Newcastle United have recently shown interest in him. The EFL Cup winners are in the hunt for a new forward and Eddie Howe wants to pair Marcus Rashford with their talisman, Alexander Isak. The Magpies wanted Joao Pedro earlier but Chelsea has hijacked that deal. However, Newcastle also want to loan in Rashford with a buy option. On the other hand, Manchester United want to gain the £40 million from their local boy.
Author’s Opinion on Rashford Transfer
Manchester United are indeed having a problem with this Rashford transfer drama. Both the club and the player want to part ways but the roads are different. Rashford wants to join a team that will play the UEFA Champions League. As of now, no club is willing to pay the release clause for Marcus. If nothing happens, Rashford has been told to join the pre-season of Manchester United.
