Celtics Contact Pacers After Tyrese Haliburton’s Tough Injury Blow

The Celtics are no strangers to what the Indiana Pacers are going through with Tyrese Haliburton’s Achilles injury.

Jayson Tatum suffered the same injury just six weeks before the star guard. Pacers president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard announced on Monday that Haliburton will be out for all of the 2025-26 season.

With the Celtics understanding what the Pacers are going through, president of basketball operations Brad Stevens said that he and vice president of basketball operations Mike Zarren have been in touch with Pritchard.

“Like, ‘Anything we can do to help let us know, because we’ve been through it,’” Stevens said on Tuesday, according to MassLive’s Lauren Campbell. “Those are hard things to go through, and they’re emotional, but it’s more emotional, and it’s probably more impactful, for how you feel about the player. You hate to see that. You’re not talking as much about the team building yet. But there are moments in the next few weeks where you do.”

Haliburton sustained the injury in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He went down in the first quarter, falling to the floor after attempting to push off his right leg and drive to the basket.
