Newcastle United are finally getting somewhere in the transfer market amid fresh links with Marc Guehi.
Indeed, Newcastle are set to sign Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest for £55million. The Sweden star will become the first signing who comes in to improve Eddie Howe’s first-team in two years.
Excitingly for supporters, Newcastle are not stopping there. They want to strengthen in central defence, in goal and up front too.
Guehi remains a target. Last summer, the club went big in their pursuit of the Crystal Palace and England defender but were ultimately left with nothing.
Still, it seems the defender’s camp aren’t getting carried away by recent speculation from the likes of GIVEMESPORT.

Marc Guehi’s agents play down Newcastle United transfer talk
According to The Chronicle, Guehi’s agents have met recent links with a move to Newcastle with caution.
The defender has also been strongly linked with Liverpool and it has previously been claimed that he could even run his contract down at Palace.
Guehi has just a year to go on his deal with the south London club and would be in a strong negotiating position if he were to enter the market as a free agent in 2026.

Geordie Boot Boys have also been told that Newcastle rate Sporting CP star Ousmane Diomande, while Marseille captain Leonardo Balerdi has also been linked.
Strengthening in central defence has to be a priority for Newcastle this summer. Fabian Schar and Dan Burn were both brilliant last season, but they cannot go on forever.
It’ll be fascinating to see how Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles recover next season, although expecting too much too soon from players recovering from serious injuries feels unwise.
The signing of a new centre-back has to be the priority now.
