Callum Wilson makes hilarious joke after Chelsea triumph amid Leeds United transfer link

Callum Wilson has humorously expressed his eagerness to demonstrate his goal-scoring prowess once again.

After leaving Newcastle United, having spent five years at St James' Park, the now free agent is on the lookout for a new squad to showcase his skills. The England international has been continuously linked with a move to Leeds United this summer.

Despite making only a few league starts in an injury-plagued final season with Newcastle, the forward's appetite for goals remains undiminished.

When quizzed about whether Joao Pedro's second strike in Chelsea's Club World Cup semi-final reminded him of his younger days, Wilson, with a grin, retorted: "Young? It's still in the locker. I just need to find a club!"

While providing analysis for DAZN, Wilson observed why Newcastle had shown interest in Pedro before Chelsea secured the Brazilian international from Brighton, reports Chronicle Live.

Pedro not only scored a fantastic curled shot in his full debut but followed up with another strong finish at the Metlife Stadium. Wilson didn't hesitate to praise Pedro as 'a fantastic signing,' even enquiring to Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca about the new player's immediate influence.

"The good thing about Joao is that he was on holiday so he arrived here a little bit fresher than the rest," remarked Maresca after the 2-0 win.

Maresca added that Pedro's freshness is something they might consider in future competitions of this kind. He said: "We already knew how good he was. Today he was playing a little deeper, but we know how good he is to drop and link. He's very good technically, in small spaces, and this is the reason why we decided to bring him in."
