Report: Bayern Munich preparing €80 million proposal to Liverpool for Luis Diaz

According to a report from Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich is preparing an offer to Liverpool FC for Luis Diaz that would be worth €80 million. The base proposal is reportedly €60 million with a bonus package that could be worth up to €20 million:

According to our sources here at CF Bayern Insider, we understand that FC Bayern have set an upper limit on any potential bidding for Diaz. This is said to be €60m [£51.6m] plus possible bonuses attached.

It’s important to note that Bayern wish to operate with respect and care following the terrible accident that took the lives of Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, in Spain last week.

With that in mind, Bayern have decided to hold off on transfer talks with Liverpool for the time being.

Nonetheless, they are said to have informed Luis Diaz’s agent that they absolutely want to sign the attacker this summer.

There are a couple of things to note:

Falk and Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg have not been aligned on the specifics of this pursuit so far, which has led to some doubt about Sport Bild’s version of the story.

FC Barcelona is reportedly interested in Diaz and could be a more attractive destination for the Colombian.

It is extremely difficult to tell exactly where the truth lies, but the situation is worth monitoring.
