Manchester United’s preparations for the new campaign have taken shape in recent weeks with pre-season now underway and several major changes already implemented by new boss Ruben Amorim.
The Red Devils are set to fly to the United States soon, where they’ll face West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton in the Premier League Summer Series.
While the focus remains on new arrivals and departures, some of last season’s surprise exits continue to generate discussion — especially given how well some have performed since leaving Old Trafford.

One of those departures is now making headlines again after winning a league title abroad.
Former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has made his first public comments about the club since his surprise exit at the start of last season.
Speaking at Wimbledon during a return trip to the UK, the Scotland international offered a heartfelt message of support to United as they look to recover from a disastrous 2024/25 season, which saw them finish 15th in the Premier League.
“I always want the absolute best for Manchester United, it’s been my life for 22–23 years,” McTominay told reporters at the All England Club, as reported by the BBC.
“For me, I wish the club all the success in the world and I’ll be with them every step of the way.
“I want them to do well.”

Scott McTominay left United to join Antonio Conte’s side last summer, and the move proved a masterstroke.
The midfielder scored 13 goals from midfield, was crowned player of the season, and lifted the domestic league title in his debut campaign under the Italian tactician.
Despite flourishing away from Manchester, McTominay’s loyalty and love for the club where he developed remains clear.
While some fans were initially surprised to see him leave, his post-United success and continued support for the Red Devils has earned him praise.
With Amorim ushering in a new era at Old Trafford, former players like McTominay will be watching closely — and hoping for a swift return to the top.
