“One To Watch”–Liverpool Tipped To Raid Real Madrid For£77.5M Rated Diaz Replacement

Liverpool are interested in Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, according to Sky Sports Switzerland reporter Sacha Tavolieri.

Writing on his X account, the journalist said that the Reds are “one to watch” as they “could move” for the Brazilian international if Luis Diaz is sold.

It should be noted that Tavolieri’s reporting is not always the most reliable. He had reported last weekend that Al-Nassr had made an approach for Rodrygo, only for his information to be refuted by Fabrizio Romano.

Even so, Liverpool have tracked the forward for several years, going back to his time in Santos’s academy, and it has recently been claimed that intermediaries representing the player have contacted Arne Slot’s side, along with Manchester City, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

Arsenal are regarded as Liverpool’s main rivals

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a bid for Rodrygo in recent weeks, but they have yet to make their move as the player is still playing for Real at the Club World Cup.

At the moment, there is no indication that the 24-year-old has made a decision to leave the Bernabeu, but if he does, the forward will not be short of suitors.

Funds from Diaz’s sale would be needed to buy Rodrygo

The Reds have already invested significant sums by bringing in the likes of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giorgi Mamardashvili for a combined £215m this summer.

With Rodrygo expected to cost as much as €90m (£77.5m) if he becomes available, the money to purchase him may have to be raised through player sales.

While Liverpool are not actively looking to sell Diaz, they may allow him to leave for the right price. Bayern Munich are said to be willing to pay €60m (£52m) for the Colombian but that may not be enough for the Merseysiders to offload him.
