Former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has been sentenced to one year in prison

Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly been sentenced to one year in prison for committing tax fraud in 2014. The Italian recently left Madrid after several years in charge and was appointed manager of the Brazilian national team. It was during his first of two stints as the boss at the Santiago Bernabeu, though, when he is reported to have committed the offence.

The news, which was first broken by EFE Agency, and has since been reported by Sky News. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Ancelotti was set to stand trial after he was accused of tax fraud accumulating to €1m. He spoke publicly about the situation and revealed he was 'not worried' about his fate and he had 'total confidence in justice'.

Now, just two games into his tenure as manager of the Brazilian national team, he's facing 12 months in prison.
