Real Betis have alternative transfer plan to Antony–Manchester United player not only idea

On Wednesday morning, we covered the latest from Seville on Real Betis’ efforts to sign Antony from Manchester United this summer. The Brazilian was on loan at Betis for the second half of last season and was a huge success for them.

The front cover of Wednesday’s [Estadio Deportivo](http://estadiodeportivo.com), the sports newspaper local to Betis, shouted out confidence Antony was getting closer. That wasn’t because Los Verdiblancos were about to dig deep into their pockets, but rather that it’s thought Manchester United don’t have any other options and therefore will have to bend their demands to Betis’ will.

And to put a little bit more pressure on it’s now reported Betis have an alternative transfer plan. They’ve been keen on Bryan Zaragoza for a while and may have an opening to sign him.

The 23-year-old came through the ranks at Granada before moving to Bayern Munich in 2024. That move hasn’t gone to plan and a move to Celta Vigo has been in works, however, according to [AS](https://as.com/futbol/primera/bryan-zaragoza-alternativa-del-betis-a-abde-y-antony-n/?id_externo_rsoc=CM_ES_TW) a move to Spain’s south would be preferable for the winger and Betis ticks the boxes.

AS explain that Bryan Zaragoza would be an alternative at Betis to Antony and Abde. It’s stated that signing the Brazilian would mean there wouldn’t be funds for others, especially if Abde doesn’t go anywhere.

One to keep an eye on, but if Betis are looking at other transfer plans despite believing they’ve got Manchester United where they want them then the Red Devils should probably become a bit more proactive on selling Antony.
